New Level 1 Counseling for Adolescents Offered

August 2nd, 2019

Robin Parsons, Chief Clinical Officer, announces today that Fairbanks is expanding its outpatient services to include Level 1 counseling for adolescents with substance-use issues. The addiction treatment and recovery center is also expanding Level 1 counseling for Adults to its Plainfield location.

“Level one groups are appropriate for those who have completed intensive treatment and are seeking ongoing counseling or for those who do not require higher intensity programs” states Robin Parsons, Chief Clinical Officer at Fairbanks.

Level 1 outpatient groups meet for one hour each week for 12 weeks and address substance-use plus lifestyle, attitudinal, and behavioral issues that are interfering with functioning or recovery. Groups are led by a master’s-level therapist.

Level 1 groups will now be offered for adults and teens at Fairbanks’ main campus at 8102 Clearvista Parkway and in Plainfield at 6100 Clarks Creek Rd. This program is based on the Patient Placement Criteria for the treatment of substance disorders by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
