Women and Prescription Drugs

A recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows women are dying from prescription drug overdoses at a much higher rate than men. Since 2007, more women have died from drug overdoses than from motor vehicle crashes. At Fairbanks, in 2012 prescription drugs were the second most commonly reported substance of abuse among our adult and adolescent populations.
