La Verna Lodge for Men Welcomes New Manager

La Verna Lodge for Men is pleased to announce Scott Adams as the new program manager. Scott received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Valparaiso University and his Master of Social Work Degree from Indiana University.
Scott has extensive professional experience working with individuals who struggle with mental illness and addictions. He has worked within a juvenile detention center, residential placement facility and has served as a case manager for adolescents in the high school setting. He was previously a trainer for crisis intervention courses through Cornell University and has worked with adults as an outpatient therapist at a community mental health center. Scott has demonstrated leadership in accepting supervisory positions within many of the agencies for which he has worked including his most recent role as the clinical supervisor of outpatient programming at Fairbanks Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Indianapolis.
Scott looks forward to working with a team focused on helping men identify areas for growth and taking steps toward positive change, all within an environment conducive to personal reflection, peer support and sustained sobriety.
Scott originally hails from Angola, Indiana and has lived most of his life within the state of Indiana. He is married and has three children, ages three, six and nine. In his spare time, Scott enjoys traveling, running, working out, watching movies and spending time with his family.He is also employed as an adjunct faculty member for the Human Services Department of Ivy Tech Community College and teaches intro courses as well as those focusing on crisis intervention and substance abuse.
