Day of Action – December 3

Young People in Recovery (YPR) is taking action to move legislation for additional recovery support services! The Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Act (CARA) will designate between $40 and $80 million toward advancing treatment and recovery support services across the country! So, how can you help? YPR is organizing a mass “call-your-senator” day on Wednesday, December 3, 2014!

Here’s a script of what to say when you call your senator:

Them: Senator’s office, how can I help you?
You: Hi, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a resident of [Your State]. I support Senate Bill 2839: The Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2014. This bill is very important to improve recovery support services in the United States. I’m calling to urge the senator to vote in favor of this bill.
Them: Thank you for calling. Can I get your name again and your address?
You: Yes. My name is . . . and my address is . . .
Them: I will let the senator know you called.
You: Thank you for your time.
