Fairbanks is a leading provider of professional education in the area of substance use disorders, addiction treatment and recovery management. In partnership with state and federal government agencies, community organizations and corporations, Fairbanks provides current research-based information to treatment and recovery professionals throughout the Midwest.
Fairbanks provides education to treatment programs and agencies in the form of in-service presentations, discussions and tailored on-site training programs in addition to single day and multiple day training events. The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, as well as the Indiana Counselor's Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA) and NAADAC, accredits all training events.

Fairbanks has long been involved with several long-term studies on alcoholism and has recently embarked on studies to evaluate the outcomes as well as the effectiveness of major treatment interventions. In partnership with several universities, including Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana Wesleyan University, Fairbanks is contributing to a better understanding of the disease of addiction and the effectiveness of treatment.
