Fairbanks gives teens a chance at long-term sobriety and recovery from substance abuse and addiction

INDIANAPOLIS - Research of the adolescent brain has shown that when addressing addiction, long-term structured recovery support is essential for success. Fairbanks has responded to this evidence based information by adding the HOWSE residential living program to the adolescent full continuum of care.

"Life-skills development is critical to the programming where the young person will learn the importance of dealing with emotions, communication skills, employment, community service and developing a life-long recovery support network," said Rachelle Gardner, director of adolescent services.

From educational groups to long-term residential living, Fairbanks is dedicated to giving adolescents the tools and resources for life-long sobriety. Fairbanks understands each adolescent is different and offers programs to support the different stages of substance abuse and addiction.

The full continuum of adolescent services includes detoxification, rehabilitation, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programming and recovery management services. All levels include a recovery management focus involving the family, school system, juvenile courts and social services in treatment planning. Treatment focus is based on using therapeutic approaches to increase the adolescent's success in recovery. Recovery management is provided at the completion of treatment.
