Getting Help
Individuals who struggle with addiction often feel surrounded by external temptations, internal problems, devastated families, careers, school relationships and feelings of helplessness. At Fairbanks, we understand the challenges facing those who deal with addiction and abuse. It's what we do. Fairbanks professionals understand the chronic disease and have years of experience helping people move towards a better life through recovery.
Fairbanks is recognized as a leader in addictions treatment in the region. For more than 60 years, our programs have focused exclusively on treatment for alcohol and other drug abuse and addiction. Our medical director is one of the Midwest's few and leading addictionologists (medical doctors with special advanced training in the disease of addiction). Many of our staff members are former patients who have gone on to become credentialed professionals in the field. These dedicated professionals, understand alcohol and drug abuse and addiction on a number of levels.
When we focus our efforts and resources on addiction recovery, we are taking steps toward a better future not just for the men, women and adolescents who struggle with addiction, but for the families and communities in those individuals reside. Through a full range of services, a life-long commitment to patients, and an expert staff, Fairbanks can be the first step towards a new life and new hope.
What is Recovery?
Recovery is a change in attitude and behavior that becomes a new lifestyle, lived one day at a time. Abstinence from all mood-altering chemicals is usually the cornerstone of any recovery program.
What does this mean to you? Recovery is the ultimate goal of the programs at Fairbanks. Every group, every counseling session, and every meeting is designed to help individuals suffering from alcohol and/or drug addiction, develop a substance-free lifestyle.
